Discovery Gateway Museum

My sister Ruthie and her son came out for a couple day visit and I thought, what a better time to check this out? We loaded up all the kiddos and headed up to Salt Lake City. We went on a Thursday(thinking we would be field trip safe, nope. No such luck.) right when they opened, next time we will go back at lunch time. There were so much less people after we had grabbed a bite to eat. The kids all loved it. I realized I have been slacking in my parenting on teaching 'What to do if lost'. Josie reminded me, twice, that we need to have a Family Home Evening on that topic. :) (She wasn't really lost, she just had a little panic moment..)

First stop, 'The Garden'!

Everyone enjoyed placing the balls into the tubes and watching them travel all around.

This was Michael's favorite spot.

Cousin Oliver!

Josie thought this was pretty cool. It would shoot the ball up!

There was also music! I went ahead and set them on the table so they could get in on the action too!

Michael LOVES music. I won't be surprised if that is where he gravitates to as a career. You can catch him dancing to ANY type of instrument or music.

The girls liked trying to play nursery songs like, 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'.

Next:
Contruction! I didn't get any pictures here cause there were a lot of big kids giving me anxiety... haha
Here the kids handed "rocks" to the crane which dropped them to the lower part, they really enjoyed trying to build and work with the bigger kids. They are looking forward to a turn on the crane when we go back and hopefully less kids.

Next: My Size! Here is the rest of the main floor. There was a house with everything small! It was pretty cute, the girls took turns putting dishes away, Josie's favorite chore!

Aren't they cute?

Water Table!

Look at the concentration. :)

Michael loves water, he will practically dive into the tub for baths.

After Josie's "run offs" I needed to gather myself, we took a stop in the Tadpole area that was gated. I realized as we were leaving that the girls were too big to be playing there. Ooops.

Other stops on the first floor were the Supermarket (another too crowded). Tori had so much fun playing as an employee and restocking the groceries. The there was the farm, where they could pick the vegetables and fruits and bring them to the store.

Upstairs there were more things! The girls got to be on 'TV'! They thought that was pretty cool.

Magnet tube building.

There were ping pong balls that the kids could put down and see if their tunnels worked.

Michael had fun trying to place the tubes. That is until he found the balls..

Air Tunnel. I need to improve my paper plane skills..

Animation, this had a still camera that would take pictures then put them together quickly for a short clip!

Helipad!

There was a life size Helicopter upstairs along with Traffic Control and an Emergency Room.

Boys loved running back and forth upstairs in the fresh air.

Ruuuun!

These two were born just 3 weeks apart, it is so fun to have cousins so close in age.
